Product details

Concrete Shadows is a sonic illustration of the shadows cast by buildings and skyscrapers across the megalopolis. Inspired by the urban metropolises of Sydney and Melbourne, the work explores the angular nature of structures and the invincible shadows they create.

Buildings, tall, assertive and unforgiving, cast merciless shadows across the city; shadows no man nor object can defy. They dominate a command above all metropolitan activity. Each day they climb the skyscrapers which divide the clouds, before chasing the light and darkening the city once again.

Yet amongst the authority of towering buildings blanketing the city in shadow, within this, there are moments of quiet, of cold, and of peace - solitude from an unforgiving, ever-moving and ever-changing metropolitan life.
