Work Overview
Each movement in the suite creates a musical portrait of a particular character from Japanese animation.
"Ponyo" is a magical fish.
"Mokona" is a short musical portrait of a character from the anime series Tsubasa: Reservoire Chronicle. The subject of the piece is a small, cute and magical creature with the ability to summon large inter-dimensional portals. The piece is in three small sections which suggest this narrative.
