Work

Waxing and Waning (duos: flute, violin)

by Haydn Reeder (2022, this version: 2019)

Work Overview

The title derives from the difference in intervallic tension between three collections of notes. The intervals in the collections range from quite 'bland' followed by two collections displaying more dissonant intervals. The first two collections are used in alternation during the first minutes, followed by increasing use of the third. Towards the end only the first collection is present. There is also a great variety of density. Players will enjoy the idiomatic writing for their instrument.
