Work Overview

An art song for soprano, cello, and piano that reimagines the origin myth for the Greek goddess, Athena. The poem by Emily Kendal Frey describes Athena's unconventional birth - emerging fully armed from her mother's head. The setting is both darkly mysterious and intensely lyrical.
