Work Overview
Time is an ever-enriching, multifaceted concept. Whether time moves, passes, flies over us, heals, is fleeting, or continues - time is a passage through which we find meaning. While some may commonly say that memories fade with the passage of time, it is through intentional acknowledgement and celebration of anniversaries, of time, that we cement a legacy eternal.
This work draws on five phrases (three quotes and two general expressions) about time, taking the listener on a journey of free exploration and contemplation that is open to whether their perspective mirrors, meshes or diverges from mine - finding meaning via either path.
1: 'time moves slowly, but passes quickly' - Alice Walker
2: 'time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind' - Nathaniel Hawthorne
3: 'time is a passage that heals' - general expression
4: 'time is fleeting' - general expression
5: 'time does not pass, it continues' - Marty Rubin
