Work Overview
Latin Tracks is based on imagined steam train journeys through various Latin American countries, highlighting popular dance forms in each region.
It starts off in Brazil with a relaxed Bossa Nova, then south to Argentina for a Tango, and finally to Cuba to dance a high-energy Mambo.
Linking each dance is a sound like an old fashioned train whistle, sometimes distant, sometimes close, and there's always a hint of the mechanical clanking of the engine.
