Work Overview

Through music, the title of Smoke and Mirrors has been drawn on fairly literally, rather than metaphorically, with the slow movement of smoke in circles and coils but always upward, and the repetitive eternal image created by two mirrors facing each other. Smoke and Mirrors was composed for Translucent Duo David Lockeridge, marimba and Bernard Lagana, saxophone who gave invaluable advice during the writing of the piece and played the first performance in August, 2016 in Sydney.
