The musical journeys described in the Indonesian Triptych are influenced by traditional music, landscape and poetry from the island of Java.

Manusia pertama di angkasa luar, from Indonesian Triptych

Manusia Pertama di Angkasa Luar (The First Man in Outer Space) was influenced by a poem of the same title by Javanese poet, Subagio Sastrowardojo. It is one of three tone poems collectively titled JOURNEYS, which were commissioned by the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra.
