Night Dances : for clarinet, violin and piano

by Peggy Polias (2018)

Work Overview

Night Dances is is four sections or dances: Dance I: Darbuka, II: Drum Machine, III: Circle, IV: Orrery. The work was written to capture lunar and stellar - and mystical - qualities of evening, and the dances loosely parallel a night-time journey through the four seasons of a year. Along the way you might hear traces of eastern European and/or Middle Eastern folk rhythms, belly dancing, Western pop, clockwork, planetary orbits.
