Work Overview
Ngarrama tide is an audiovisual representation of the
impact climate change is having on the ocean and beaches of
Australia's east coast, saltwater country. The work is a
combination of field recordings, acoustic and digital instruments
manipulated to capture and represent the rising tide.
'Ngarrama' means 'to sit and listen', and for me, being on
Awabakal country and being near salt water is as close as I can
get to spiritual. To sit, learn, listen and know the ocean, the
tide and the beaches I live on is a privilege.
Big love to the Awabakal, custodians of the land this work was
created.
