'GOLD' is a magical Australian ballet for young audiences, set amongst the bush during the historic Gold Rush era. Celebrating our unique flora and fauna, the story follows young immigrants navigating temptation, greed, love and acceptance. It premiered at Riverside Theatres Parramatta in August 2024 to near sold-out audiences, with additional shows added due to popular demand.
Fool's Gold is the climactic closing scene of Act 1. Newlyweds Alwyn and Sheena have reconciled and the wedding celebrations restart joyfully amongst the bird characters of the bush. But the mischievous Thief still has his eye on causing trouble, until Leung, the Chinese provisioner, exposes his scheming.
The stolen gold is left where it falls. Nobody wants it. In this world, love and friendship far outshine any glittering prize.
