Product details
These three British folksong settings are dedicated to the memory
of Percy Grainger and follow his approach of passacaglia or
variation when treating folksongs. The titles are 1. The Jolly
Sailor, a boisterous portrait of the subject; 2. Lovely Joan, a
slow romantic setting; 3. Lord Bateman, a virtuosic setting in
multi-metrical form.
Originally for brass band, this folksong suite is a spectacular
showpiece for brass and percussion.
